Goldington is a very affordable electoral ward within the town of Bedford with great access to nearby amenities like the cinema and athletics stadium as well as shopping parades that include Aldi, Iceland, Co-op, a post office and a GP surgery.
To the eastern side of Goldington is the Elms & Viking Industrial estate. This large business park houses many firms, including the East of England Ambulance Service. It also includes two modern estates that are part of Renhold Parish and has a population of approx. 8,662K
The history of Goldington
The area of Goldington encompasses much of the historic village and parish of Goldington that was merged with Bedford in 1934, although some parts of the old village are within the neighbouring Newnham ward.

There are some great local schools in the area and is perfect for a growing family. The ward is served by Putnoe Primary School, The Hills Academy, Goldington Green Academy and Renhold VC Primary School for primary school age pupils. Goldington Academy and Mark Rutherford School serve the area for secondary school age pupils.

Goldington Green Park
Goldington Green is an urban greenspace which includes a wooded area that is suitable for dog walking and running around in! There is a seating area carved out from some trees in the centre of this wood so you can take a seat and watch the world go by.
Goldington Bury cricket ground
Goldington Bury cricket ground has been home to Bedford Cricket Club since the 1930’s.
Priory Country Park
Priory Country Park is a must visit because it sits on the northern bank of the River Great Ouse and has been awarded Green Flag status.
